“Save The Land!”

A project-reaction on the rising sea levels in The Netherlands.

In collaboration with Maryam Touzani.

How do you explain that you did nothing to stop the seawater? There is a chance that our children will have to say goodbye to cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. We are not the ones saying that, but the scientists are - according to them, in 100 years The Netherlands will be underwater.

Sea levels are now rising at an average of about 3mm a year risk overwhelming all the Dutch water defences. With global warming going out of control, the old systems are not going to help prevent The Netherlands from flooding anymore. So what now, when the sea level rises faster than the Netherlands can handle? That would mean that the land we know now would not exist anymore.
