Slav Gaze reflects on Eastern European culture on social media. There is a tendency in the countries from post-Soviet territories to post pictures of luxurious meals, to show how well you are dressed today, or show what fancy item you just bought.
Whilst many try to feed their eyes with fancy-looking objects - why are the surroundings being overlooked? I've heard a psychologist once say that such tendency takes place, for the post-soviet people crave this beautiful image so much because of the actual "ugliness" that surrounds them. I think our culture is beautiful in its own ways and I try to embrace it through this project.
